"Africa time"

We made it to Africa! Took a while and have experienced minor complications, but we are here!

Friday evening we left Boston for London and we finally met some people we would be going to Kenya with. We flew over night and arrived in London yesterday morning... Or at least, I think it was morning. I am having the hardest time figuring out what day and time it is. We had an 8 hour layover in London so we - Hutton Brown, Kristin Bay, Debbie Allen, and Stacy Reed (some of the people we met up with... Although there are many more!) - went to Portobello Road where they have a huge antique market every Saturday. It's probably best that I only have a backpack on this trip because I could have bought so many things.

After our layover, we boarded the plane for Africa. We made it to Nairobi this morning at about 7... We had an 8 o'clock flight. We didn't make it. Or at least most of us didn't make it. Thankfully Jim Beck was here and rearranged some things and got us on two separate flights to Mombasa, from where we will get on a bus to head to Malindi (where we will be staying).

Right now I am sitting in the Nairobi airport with Kristin, Callie Donaldson and Elizabeth Donaldson as we wait our 1130 flight out of here. The others went on a 930 flight that actually left at 1030. We are already getting to experience "Africa time."

Today we will probably meet up and have a devo, then get oriented to everything before we hit the ground running tomorrow at the hospital. Pretty exciting stuff!

Oh, mom - tell Abbie "happy 9th birthday" for me :)
